One way to get views with a flickr account is to create contacts. Unlike myspace, any person can be made a contact on flickr. Users can choose to reciprocate the contact if desired. Making contacts is a good way to expose your photos and content to other people.

Join a groups

You already have photos on flickr, you just need to get them seen by more people. The best way to do this is to make sure you're submitting them to groups, lots of them.

  • Flickr highly encourages browsing
    • shows lots of meta information
    • rewards promiscuity with greater cross-browsing
  • groups for anything you can think of. Examples:

Create groups

Chances are people are already taking photos inside or around your institution and posting them on flickr. A simple search for the tag walkerartcenter proves this point. Create a group and invite these photos. We have two groups at the Walker:
